Sunnova in Puerto Rico

Participate Only When Storms Are Not Predicted

The uncertainty of the local electrical grid and the inconvenience of power outages is unfortunately common in Puerto Rico. But your solar battery provides the opportunity to help stabilize the local grid. When your battery is participating in the Sunnova Flex Power Program, you will use power stored in your battery instead of pulling energy from the grid. Your battery will not be dispatched ahead of predicted hurricanes and other severe weather, so you can maintain your resiliency benefits.

How Our Rewards Program Works

Your Compensation

How Our Rewards Program Works

Your compensation is based on how much energy your battery provides when called upon. Assuming a dispatch of 1,122 kWh annually, the estimated customer payment is expected to be $1,000. Program incentives are considered taxable income and pursuant to Puerto Rico law, Sunnova is required to report income each year. You will be asked to provide Sunnova with information to complete Form 480.6A reporting in order to receive your incentive.

If you have a loan, Sunnova will automatically apply the incentive towards your account. If you have a lease, you will receive an on-bill credit for the incentive amount if the account is current.
